ZLINE Wall Mount Outdoor Grill Hood with Size Options (GOW2)

Replaced a recirculating unit that was useless outdoors with this vented one and there's simply no comparison. Proper venting makes outdoor cooking a completely different experience. The variable speed control with the auto-shutoff timer is something I didn't know I needed until I had it. If you forget to turn it off and it handles itself. Very happy.

Did this install myself with help from a friend who does HVAC. The instructions were clear for the most part and the ductwork lined up cleanly through our pergola roof. On max speed the airflow is genuinely impressive — you can feel the draw from two feet away. The matte black finish we chose hasn't faded or shown heat discoloration after several heavy cooks.

Three years of weekend projects later, the outdoor kitchen is done and this was the last piece. The 42-inch size covers our grill and side burner setup perfectly, and the telescoping chimney fit our covered patio height without any custom cutting. Everything about this feels intentional and well-made.

This hood is heavier than I expected, definitely a two to three person job to mount safely overhead. Once up, the install was clean and the fit against our outdoor ceiling was tight. The boost mode is something we use every time we sear steaks. Four stars only because the weight wasn't mentioned anywhere in the product specs and I almost tried to hang it solo.

Wasnt sure what to expect at this price point for an outdoor-rated hood. The answer is: a lot more than I anticipated. My neighbor has a much more expensive brand and I don't think his does any better.

Running the hood on low while people are sitting around the outdoor kitchen area is perfectly fine conversationally. Crank it to high when the grill is really going and it pulls all the smoke clear without hesitation. Easy to wipe down after a heavy session. Really well thought out for actual outdoor use.

Dad spent the better part of last year building out his dream outdoor kitchen and I got him this hood to finish it off. He called me the weekend it went up and said it was the nicest thing in the whole setup. it's already been through two big cookouts without skipping a beat.

Airflow and looks are both excellent on this hood. My only gripe is that the included duct length assumed a pretty short ceiling height — our covered patio has higher clearance and we had to source an extension separately. Not a dealbreaker but worth knowing. On high speed it handles our 48-inch grill with no smoke escaping.

The profile is clean and modern without looking industrial, which mattered since the outdoor kitchen is visible from our main living area. Push-button controls are easy to use with greasy hands too.

Been through two cheaper outdoor hoods before landing on this Z-Line and the difference in build quality is immediately obvious. The dual blower handles the open-air environment where lower-powered units just recirculate smoke. The led lights actually illuminate the grill surface well enough to cook at night without extra lighting.

Performance is solid and it looks excellent above our outdoor grill setup. Knocking one star because the installation manual is clearly written for indoor installs- references to drywall anchors and interior ceilings made it confusing to adapt for our pergola structure. Had to improvise a bit. The hood itself is five stars, the documentation is two.

Serious outdoor entertaining is our thing, full grilling sessions, wok cooking, the works. This hood keeps up with all of it. The baffle filters are easy to pull out and clean after a heavy cook, and the weather-resistant stainless has stayed shiny after several rainstorms.

Super impressed how quickly it clears grilling smoke. The stainless still looks brand new even after a ton of use. great purchase!
