ZLINE 34 in. Ducted Remote Blower Range Hood Insert in Stainless Steel (698-RD-34)

Paid too much. I was hoping to get a whisper quiet insert so I spent a little extra $708.95. It’s only 400 cfm and most manufacturers would suggest at least twice as much for many of todays gas cooktops. I had a 400 CFM for many years in previous house and it worked fine, but my only complaint was the noise when turn to level 3-4. This one is a little quieter, but not much. It’s a different kind of noise. You can hear the wind flowing through the baffles pretty loudly. I Purchase a couple of months ago and wondered why it was so expensive. The retail price was raised so the sales price was what is now regular retail. At the time I couldn’t find many remote blowers to compare it against and the noise level was important to me. Now they’re hundreds of dollars less and retail is showing what I paid. I feel like I was somewhat had by The Range Store. SMH. If I had to do it again, I would have bought a higher CFM and spend a lot less money on a comparable vent insert because noise is still an issue at level 3 and 4.

Did a lot of research before settling on this Hood Insert. Needed the remote blower (oh it is so quiet) with the LED lights and baffle technology filters and this one fit every requirement. Have had it functional for 6 months and couldn't be more pleased.

I bought mind in 2018 and The Range Hood Store was great to work with! Had one small issue but they took care of it right away. In 2019, my lights went out and ZLINE sent me a new light kit right away. This hood will suck the air out of a blimp! Grease filters are easy to remove and clean. Very satisfied.

After one year, this insert is dependable, powerfull and well made.

We have used the 46” unit in a couple homes so far. We will definitely make this our new standard. Just a simple clean look that functions perfectly. also, the cabinet doors are held shut with magnetic catches so you can access the outlet.

This is NOT a do-it yourselfer item.
I chose this item as I dont like the look for the stainless steel vents. But I had no idea the extra costs I was undertaking.
This is an expensive undertaking, BUT I still wouldnt want the visible vent hood...so I guess this is my option. So I upped to 4 star as I think it is my best option. But took away a star for the complicated install AND extra costs to install thia item.

This is hidden behind a custom cabinet.
This needs room to sit in the attic.

Not only did I pay over $800 for this (much lower price now than when ai bought), I ended up paying another $800 for install and extra for the cabinet to hold this vent, which I dont know how much it was.

End result...love the look of my kitchen.
Not loud at all.

I got a 40" to go above a 36" stove

Bought this because I have a long vent run to outside. It is perfect for that. I like the adjustable spotlights for our mural over stove. Only one thing is a problem. My wife can't reach the light switch since it is in rear. She will have to use a pencil to turn light on and off.

This thing is great. Low noise but powerful ventilation. This was part of a full kitchen remodel and took the commercial look to a higher level at a great value.

Our kitchen island needed a ducted solution and this is what our designer recommended. Installation required an electrician to run power through the ceiling, but once wired up it pulls smoke and steam impressively for how compact the insert is. Looks completely invisible once the custom canopy went over it.

Finally replaced our ancient microwave with a proper range hood This model went in faster than I expected, and my contractor said the mounting bracket design saved him a good half hour compared to other brands. LED lights are bright white, not that yellowish glow our old one had.

Lifetime motor warranty is what sold me over cheaper options, and after three months of daily cooking it's been quiet and strong. My only gripe is the box had a corner crushed in transit, though the insert itself came through undamaged. Would still buy again.

We're mid renovation and this was one of the last pieces to go in. The insert handles our gas range with room to spare, and it's noticeably quieter than the hood it replaced. Fit inside our existing chimney cover perfectly, so no modifications needed.

My husband built a wood hood surround and we dropped in the range hood insert, and it works better than we hoped. It clears smoke from searing steaks in seconds, and the baffle filters pop out for the dishwasher without any fuss. Lighting underneath is bright enough that we dont need extra task lighting over the stove.

We absolutely love this range good. I installed it myself which was easy due to the design. Awesome look!!

Bought this for a professional looking venthood for my new gourmet kitchen. Works well with a reasonable amount of sound for what it is. Great price. Great looking overall but the edges of the vent area are hard to clean

I have purchased two of these hoods for custom installations. One 9 months ago and one three months ago. Both are working great with great features. I purchased units with built in fans and they are both powerful and reasonably quiet. I especially like the auto shut off feature allowing me a few minutes of automatic exhaust before shutting down. The lighting with LED's is also a great feature. Would highly recommend for custom installations.

I’ll admit the design is what sold me first. After using it, the airflow really impressed me. Even heavy cooking nights don’t leave lingering smells. Only reason it’s not a full five is fingerprints show easily.

This hood has been running daily for a few months and hasn’t missed a beat. It pulls smoke well and feels sturdy when you turn it on. Cleaning the filters is pretty straightforward. Nothing flashy, just dependable.
