Easy install, works very good at trapping smoke then sending out the exhaust fan. Prior to using it, I had a great deal of issues with excess smoke in my kitchen.

This was NOT what I thought it was gonna be. I thought it was a hood with a filter.

Before, when frying almost everything our smoke alarms would go off, even though the vent is ducted to the outside. It got so that whenever my wife seared a roast or even sautéd vegetables, our dog would run to the back room. With it installed, our alarms have not gone off. It won't work as well as a standalone vent hood, but if space requires mounting the microwave over the stove, the extension hood improves the vent fan significantly. It's expensive for what it is, but it works well and looks good.
